Make the quotes comparable
Tell both businesses whether the system is a septic tank, cesspit or treatment plant. Give the same estimated volume and access description, then ask about the volume included, excess waste charges, disposal, VAT and any failed-access fee.
Emptying or fault assessment?
If you are calling because drains back up or a plant alarm is active, describe this before booking. Ask whether the visit includes investigation or simply removal of waste. Emptying and repair are different jobs.
Do not enter a tank, lift heavy covers or handle sewage to investigate a fault. Keep people and pets away from a suspected overflow or damaged cover and contact a specialist. This directory is not an emergency response service.
